Head of Research

Sidse Arnfred

Sidse Arnfred is Head of Research in Region Zealand Mental Health Service and Professor of Psychiatry with special assignments within psychotherapy research at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen. She is also a post-graduate clinical lecturer (PKL) in psychiatry at the same institute in Education Region East.

Sidse Arnfred is a specialist in psychiatry and an approved supervisor in cognitive behavioral therapy (Danish Psychiatric Association). 

Since 2008, Sidse Arnfred has had clinical and research focus on psychopathology, psychotherapy and recovery-oriented interventions. Since 2015, medical education research in psychiatry has been added to her portfolio.

Sidse Arnfred masters both qualitative and quantitative methods and focuses on developing and adopting new research methods and psychotherapeutic interventions.

Søren T. Skou

Søren T. Skou is Head of Research, Head of the Research Department and the research and implementation unit PROgrez, and Professor of Exercise and Health at University of Southern Denmark.

He is one of the most cited researchers in Region Zealand, and his research particularly focuses on physical activity and exercise as prevention and treatment for chronic diseases and multimorbidity. He has contributed to the development and evaluation of a wide range of successful treatments. Patient involvement, cross-sectoral initiatives, and the implementation of research into clinical practice are central elements of Søren T. Skou’s work.

One example is the GLA:D project, through which more than 65,000 Danes with osteoarthritis have received exercise therapy and patient education. This has resulted in reduced pain, lower use of pain medication, fewer sick leaves, and improved function and quality of life for patients, while also proving to be cost-effective from a societal perspective.
